Started in July 2009 african allure is a service offered to the general angling public by a fisherman who has a drive and a passion for both water and the great outdoors. This is a personailised service that renders knowledge and experince in giving the best possible adventure to the guest.
Business has been a little slow on the fishing side of things so I decided to go back into the business that I had been doing for most of my adult working life - Field or Nature Guiding. One of the reasons I have been so quiet on this website is that sadly when one works in the bush internet acess can be somewhat limited and I have just had to come to the big city to come and collect a few bits and Pieces so I thought I would share with you the events of the last 2 weeks or so.
I am now based near Hoedspruit working as a freelance Field guide and Tintswalo safari lodge in the manyeleti game reserve has been using my services for the last 2 weeks. Funny to be back in the bush but after being in the city for the last couple of years I have no Idea why I ever left. What a joy to be back in the bush working with some really great guys (Alfie who is a tracker has been looking after me for the last 2 weeks and been showing me around) I have aslo been fortunate in that I have bumped into many mnay old Aquaintances in my travels around the bush.
It is just before the rains and it is super hot and dry with temps hitting the upper 30's and 40's so it has been pretty warm. Game sightings have been exceptional with the lions hard at work bringing down buffalo, Leopard and Cheetah making the most of the impala lambing season.
I have had some really great guests from all over the world and we have had a blast on game drives - I have had to rack my brain a bit as my knowledge has been stored and now needs to come out of moth balls.
All these photo's were take with a small "point and shoot" camera so maybe now you will understand how close to the game we get....
I am going to be workinat Jackalberry lodge in the Thornybush complex for the next 2 weeks
Ciao' for now
This is my garden Boy - he came to pay me a visit at lunchtime today
