Started in July 2009 african allure is a service offered to the general angling public by a fisherman who has a drive and a passion for both water and the great outdoors. This is a personailised service that renders knowledge and experince in giving the best possible adventure to the guest.
Komatipoort Fish Species; Florida Large mouth Bass, Small mouth bass, Mozambique Tilapia (Blue Kurper), Redbreasted Tilapia, Tigerfish, Yellow fish and a whole host of other species.
This region is well known for it's bass and tigerfish but there are really good waters for spinning and flyfishing for other species currently. Tigers are in the region of up to about 6kgs but this is very dependant on the colour of the water and the rains. Large mouth bass - fish in excess of 6kgs have been caught and due to the wide variety of prey species available in the area this helps with them attaing this size and mass.
Dams; Driekoppies is the biggest dam in the area and this has excellent bass and other species - one can leterilly catch bass till one's fingers bleed from handeling all the bass caught. Komati river for tigerfish. I have a whole host of other private dams that are not open to the public. Maguga in Swaziland is also not a too distant option.
Duration of stay; I would reccomend at least 2 full days so basically 3 nights and we would aslo fish the afternoon on the day of arrival and the morning of departure
Accomodation; A wide variety of accomodation can be booked fromn fully catered to Self catering or even camping. What is really great about Komatipoort is the fact that one can bring the wife and kids and if they are not keen on fishing they can visit the Kruger National park which is in close proximity to Komatipoort. There is also opportunity to do add on's such as visit Maputu in Mozambique for fantastic Seafood and beach activities. Swaziland is also close and there are things like visiting the Candle making factory etc.
